The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The player's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to play at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an better serving game.

The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
