Vehicles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Officers stated they were contacted by a man who noticed a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Around 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then found many other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism made him stunned and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
